It just became a bit easier to find out if someone is locked up at the Richmond Justice Center.

A new inmate search database is now available online at the Richmond City Sheriff’s Office website, www.Richmondgov.com/Sheriff, it was announced Tuesday.

The new service will allow the public to search by the individual’s last name, first name or inmate identification number to verify if an individual is in custody, Sheriff Antionette V. Irving announced in launching the service.

The system will provide information on an individual’s charges, booking date, bond requirement and next court date.
