Virginia Union University’s football team is ranked 25th in the nation in Lindy’s Sports Magazine’s preseason poll for NCAA Division II.

The Panthers won seven of their last eight games and finished 8-2 a year ago in Coach Alvin Parker’s first season as head coach.

VUU opens the 2019-20 football season Sept. 7 with a 6 p.m. game against Hampton University at Armstrong Stadium on the Pirates’ campus.
