Concert at Westwood Baptist

That’s what organizers of a “Raising the Praise” concert are promising.

The worship event is scheduled for Westwood Baptist Church in Richmond’s West End, the church’s interim pastor, the Rev. J. Elisha Burke, has announced.

When: 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at the 139-year-old church, 915 Glenburnie Road near Willow Lawn shopping center.

Performers are to include: The Mass Choir of Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church, Zion’s Voice Community Choir, the Rev. D.K. Logan and Nu Beginning, spoken word artist Chaz Hofler, Sade Praise dance ministry and the men’s and combined choirs of Westwood Baptist led by Music Minister Almeter Ingram-Miller. The church’s Youth Choir, directed DeVante Raines, also will perform.

The concert is open to the public.

It will conclude a week of activities designed to recognize those involved in Westwood’s music and fine arts ministries.
