Re “Building for Children,” July 30-Aug. 1 edition:
Kudos to Free Press writer Jeremy Lazarus for what I consider to be one of the best written and most thoroughly researched articles on the proposed children’s hospital-ballpark scenario that I have read thus far.
Mr. Lazarus does an excellent job connecting all the dots and showing where and how the various interests are aligned.
Here’s a thought: Richmond needs both a freestanding children’s hospital as well as a state of the art baseball facility. Why not put both of those projects on the 61-acre site on the Boulevard? The site, along with contiguous property, will offer ample space for the ballpark and hospital, and would allow room for retail, office and apartment complexes as well.
