Richmond Public Schools Superintendent Dana T. Bedden has received three pay boosts totaling $12,579 since taking the job a year and a half ago.
He began work in January 2014 at a starting salary of $225,000. Five months later, in June 2014, he was approved for a $6,750 pay raise that was effective July 1, 2014.
Less than a month later, he received a second raise of $2,318, also effective July 1, 2014.
Combined, the raises brought his pay to $234,068, an overall 4 percent hike in accordance with the average pay hike awarded RPS teachers that year.
His third pay hike, an additional $3,511 effective July 1, 2015, increases his current salary to $237,579. The 1.5 percent pay hike corresponds to the raise teachers received for the 2015-16 fiscal year.
