Time to remove ‘N’ word from vocabulary

I don’t believe we are being honest about the true meaning of the “N” word.

Webster defines the “N” word as: A negro; in a vulgar derision or depreciation.

The real truth is that the “N” word was our animal name. It was given to us by our oppressors to define us as livestock. Our forefathers were their property and were referenced by this word when they were listed for sale, the same as hogs and mules.

Now, some of us want to embrace the “N” word in our own culture?

Unfortunately, the “N” word was forced upon us. And just like chitterlings, we are still trying to cook it up and make it taste good.

We should never accept this reference for ourselves. It’s time we stop pretending this word belongs to us. Each of us should make a conscious effort to ban it from our vocabulary and leave it to the history of our society.
