Black Girls Rock! Founder Beverly Bond is scheduled to participate in Girls For A Change’s 2015 Diva Bag Auction at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the Trinity Family Life Center.

Location: 3601 Dill Road.

The Diva Bag Auction is an annual charity event launched in 2003 to support programs of Girls For A Change, a national nonprofit headquartered in Richmond that is committed to transforming “girls into empowered agents for social change,” according to a new release about the event.

Ms. Bond’s national nonprofit, Black Girls Rock!, annually honors the accomplishments of women of color for their outstanding career achievements and for serving as positive role models for young women.

Ms. Bond will participate in a meet-and-greet and a question-and-answer session with Angela Patton, founder and CEO of Girls For A Change.

The event also will feature a silent auction of elegant and fun bags, entertainment by Richmond singer Nickey McMullen and refreshments.

Girls For A Change also will honor six women business leaders in the region with FORTHEGIRLS Awards.

Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. VIP tickets are $80.

Proceeds will support the Girls For A Change study abroad program, Essence of a Goddess, in which youngsters ages 12 to 18 will travel to Brazil in June.
