Re Editorial “A Fourth of July travesty,” Free Press July 11-13 edition:

As George Washington climbed aboard Air Force One to fly to Europe, Capt. Paul Revere started the engines. As Capt. Revere took off he yelled, “The Americans are coming! Beware!”

A Donald Trump history class is so enlightening.

Vice President Orville Wright stayed home to deal with problems with the 737 Max. Francis Scott Key was sitting in the Oval Office trying to pen an anthem. Should it be “Oh say can you see” or “Have a hot time in America if you are white and free?”

First Lady Martha Stewart was trying out some new recipes and doing some redecorating in the White House. Thomas Jefferson, Sally Hemings and their children were coming for dinner. Ms. Stewart must hang out separate bathroom and water fountain signs to make them feel at home.

George W. Bush was in the Rose Garden playing a game called “Steal the Election” with his friend Dick Cheney. William Jefferson Clinton, (no kin to Thomas), was on all the TV stations waging a war against all of those who want to “drive while black.” How clever of him to call it a “war on drugs.”

Boy, have we come a long way. We now have a “Commander In Thief” who flies around in a huge hot air balloon for which he himself provides the fuel.
