Texas Christian picks Sonny Dykes as new football coach

Coach Dykes
Sonny Dykes has been named as the new football coach at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He replaces Gary Patterson, who was fired Oct. 31.
Coach Dykes has served as head coach at Louisiana Tech, University of California-Berkeley and, most recently, at Southern Methodist University. He was 30-18 at SMU and has a 71-63 career coaching mark.
Among those interviewed for the TCU job was current Jackson State University Coach Deion Sanders.
