Congressmen A. Donald McEachin and Robert C. “Bobby” Scott, the two African-Americans in Virginia’s congressional delegation, will participate in a free, virtual Martin Luther King Beloved Community Symposium from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26.

Also participating are Valerie Slater, executive director of RISE for Youth; Sa’ad El-Amin of Strategic Litigation Consultants; and Gwendolyn Davis, president of Equipping Businesses for Success Institute.

Theme: “Strengthening the Black Community: Where Do We Go From Here?”

The discussion will be moderated by Bernice Travers, founder of the Bernice E. Travers Foundation/Empowering Black Families, and Dr. Shawn Utsey, chairman of the Virginia Commonwealth University Department of African American Studies.
