In a joint press release issued this week, the candidates for Richmond’s mayoral race announced a series of upcoming forums, town halls and debates, providing residents with numerous opportunities to hear directly from those vying for the city’s top office. These events, organized by various civic associations and community groups, will take place in the weeks leading up to the election.

The schedule includes the following:

Southside Mayoral Forum

Sponsored by a coalition of Southside Civic Associations

Date: Tuesday, Sept. 17, 7-9 p.m.

Location: Forest Hill Presbyterian Church, 4400 Forest Hill Ave.

Scott’s Addition Forum

Organized by The Greater Scott’s Addition Association

Date: Wednesday, Sept. 18, 6-8 p.m.

Location: The Chapel, 1808 Mactavish Ave.

RVA Mayoral Forum

Organized by 12 On Your Side, ChamberRVA, and VPM

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 1, 7-8 p.m.

Details: Will air live on VPM/PBS, VPM 88.9, and 12 On Your Side

Arts & Culture Mayoral Forum

Organized by CultureWorks and partners

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 8, time not provided

Location: Virginia Repertory Theatre, 114 W. Broad St.

5th District Mayoral Forum

Organized by the Office of Councilwoman Stephanie Lynch

Date: Thursday, Oct. 10, 6-8 p.m.

Location: Richmond High School for the Arts, 4314 Crutchfield St.

2024 Richmond Mayoral Debate

Sponsored by Richmond First, WTVR TV 6, and the VMHC/John Marshall Center

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 15, 7-8 p.m.

Mayorathon

Organized by a collaboration of over 20 Richmond-based community organizations
