Flying Squirrels announce home game times for 2025
As the baseball world turns its attention to the World Series, the Richmond Flying Squirrels are already looking ahead to their 2025 season, announcing game times for their home contests on Wednesday.
Squirrel-O-Ween returns to The Diamond
The Richmond Flying Squirrels will host their annual Squirrel-O-Ween event Friday, Oct. 25, at The Diamond from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Flying Squirrels’ final homestand against Akron
The Richmond Flying Squirrels began their final homestand of the season Tuesday night with a game against the Akron Rub- berDucks at The Diamond. Left-hander John Michael Bertrand (6-8, 4.50 ERA) started for Richmond, while Akron sent right- hander Tommy Mace (8-5, 3.75 ERA) to the mound. The Flying Squirrels will continue their series against Akron on Friday, Sept. 6, at 6:35 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 7, at 6:05 p.m. Friday’s game will feature a Groundbreaking Day Fan Fest celebrat- ing the future construction of the team’s new stadium. Festivities will start at 5 p.m. and include a commemorative baseball card giveaway, live DJ, photo booth, food and player autographs.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-hander grew up in Walnut Creek, Calif., just a long fly ball from the San Francisco Giants’ Oracle Park. Smith was a passionate Giants fan as a youngster, with Barry Bonds being his favorite player.
