Members of the news media recently toured William Fox Elementary School more than a year after a late-night fire started in the Fan District school’s roof on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022. Hard hats were required to walk the charred, water-damaged halls of the school on Feb. 22. Built in 1911, school officials estimate it will take at least two years to rebuild and reopen the beloved Hanover Avenue neighborhood school.

Fourteen days after Summer Fuller, 31, was murdered in the 4200 block of Chamberlayne Avenue, allegedly by her boyfriend, Novita Fuller spoke at the vigil for her niece. Ms. Fuller’s mother, Yvette Fuller, is shown consoling her sister.
