The tribute concert to gospel music icon Andraé Crouch scheduled for Dec. 9 at the Altria Theater was postponed, organizers announced.
The “Let the Church Say Amen Celebration Tour” was to feature gospel singers CeCe Winans, Marvin Winans, Israel Houghton, Marvin Sapp and Rance Allen and jazz musician Gerald Albright.
However, performances slated for Richmond and 10 other cities were postponed following Mr. Crouch’s admission to a Nashville, Tenn., hospital Dec. 1, according to the concert organizers, Riverphlo Entertainment.
Tour dates are being rescheduled for March and April 2015, the promoters stated in a news release. They said they plan to announce a revised tour schedule before Christmas.
Ticket holders are encouraged to keep their tickets until a new date is announced. Organizers said they would contact ticket holders once a new date has been set.
Mr. Crouch, who has been ill, has won many accolades, including seven Grammy awards and six Dove awards. He has been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also was nominated for an Academy Award for “The Color Purple.”
