The Rev. Roslyn M. Brock, chairwoman emeritus of the national NAACP Board of Directors, will be the keynote speaker at the annual Emancipation Proclamation Day service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary St.

The event is sponsored by the Baptist Ministers’, Conference of Richmond & Vicinity.

Attendees are asked to bring packs of diapers, sizes 4 and 5, for the Capital Diaper Bank.

A resident of Elkridge, Md., Rev. Brock is the chief advocacy officer for Bon Secours Mercy Health. She was the youngest person at age 44 and fourth woman to lead the NAACP board in 2010.

She earned her undergraduate degree in 1987 and her master’s of divinity in 2009 from Virginia Union University and serves as associate minister at the historic Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria.
