KLM and Impact Makers partner to provide $36,000 in scholarships

Women of color who attend college in Virginia and are majoring in technology are encouraged to apply for $12,000 scholarships.
The Richmond-based KLM Scholarship Foundation, in a partnership with Impact Makers, is offering the three scholarships totaling $36,000 as part of KLM’s mission to promote the value of higher education. Winning candidates also will be eligible for a mentorship program with a leading technology or business consulting firm, and possible future job opportunities.
“We are honored and grateful to partner with Impact Makers to offer these scholarships,” said Kimberley L. Martin, founder of KLM, which promote the values of higher education and provides book scholarships. Impact Makers is a business/tech consulting firm.
“Together, we are going to change the game for female BIPOC students interested in pursuing a career in information technology,” Mrs. Martin said.
Qualifying candidates should be women of color enrolled in colleges that include Virginia State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, the University of Richmond, Virginia Union University or a Virginia college or university with summer residency in the Richmond area. Applicants should also be rising sophomores, juniors seniors with a 2.7 cumulative grade point average.
Ideal candidates must be pursuing degrees in business administration, business analytics, computer engineering, computer science, cyber-security, biomedical engineers and related fields.
