Richmond’s first Moon Tree was dedicated at Thomas C. Boushall Middle School through a partnership between the U.S. Forest Service, NASA, and the school. The tree’s seeds orbited Earth and the Moon during NASA’s Artemis I Mission, honoring the legacy of the Apollo 14 Mission.

The dedication event featured interactive stations hosted by the U.S. Department of Forestry, the University of Richmond, Richmond Public Library and the Virginia War Museum. Thomas C. Boushall eighth graders also participated in a service project organized by South Side ReLeaf.
