Federal and state offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25. City of Richmond offices will be closed Wednesday- Friday, Dec. 24-26. Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico county offices will be closed Wednesday-Friday, Dec. 24-26. DMV customer service centers will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24 at noon through Friday, Dec. 26.

Public schools in Richmond, Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico will be on winter break Wednesday-Friday, Dec. 24-26. Richmond Public Library and all county libraries will be closed Wednesday-Friday, Dec. 24-26. The Library of Virginia will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24 at noon through Saturday, Dec. 27. 

Trash and recycling collections will not occur Thursday, Dec. 25. Collections for Thursday and Friday routes will be delayed by one day. The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver Thursday-Friday, Dec. 25-26. GRTC buses will operate on a Sunday schedule Thursday, Dec. 25 and resume a weekday schedule Friday, Dec. 26. 

Virginia ABC stores will close Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. and remain closed Thursday, Dec. 25, opening for normal hours Friday, Dec. 26. Banks and credit unions will be closed Thursday-Friday, Dec. 25-26. 

Residential recycling and trash service through the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority will be delayed for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. There will be no service Thursday, Dec. 25 or Thursday, Jan. 1. Thursday and Friday collections will be delayed by one day both weeks. 

Richmond Free Press offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25.
