The sounds of classic R&B will fill Kanawha Plaza on Saturday, Sept. 6, as the third annual Richmond R&B Festival brings together some of the genre’s defining voices from the 1990s and 2000s.

The festival lineup includes Slim of 112, known for “Peache s & Cream”; Total, whose hit “Can’t You See” helped define ’90s R&B Kut Klose, celebrated for “I Like”; Sunshine Anderson, best known for “Heard It All Before”; Adina Howard, remembered for “Freak Like Me”; Yvette Michele, recognized for “I Found My Man”; Francoise, known for “I Can’t Help It”; and Mr. G, who will lead line dancing.

Gates open at 2 p.m. at 801 E. Canal St. Attendees can purchase food and merchandise from local vendors and beer and spirits at cash bars. General admission and VIP ticket holders may bring lawn chairs, but backpacks, coolers, outside food or drinks, and tents are not allowed. All attendees will be screened at entry. VIP ticket holders have access to a separate entrance, a VIP area near the stage, and an open bar and buffet while supplies last.

The festival will take place rain or shine. Tickets are available at Eventbrite.
