This view toward the east shows the new bridge that now spans the Canal Walk in Downtown. The metal bridge was installed earlier this month near South 12th Street. The bridge is 87 feet long and 10 feet wide, making it ideal for pedestrians and bicyclists. The bridge is part of $1.7 million in improvements the city is investing in the area.
This is the season for hurricanes and tropical storms. To prepare, Dominion Virginia Power is deploying contractors to cut tree limbs that could knock down power lines.
