The skies over Brown’s Island on May 24 cleared up just in time for the local gospel group The Legendary Ingramettes to perform at Friday Cheers. Lead singer Almeta Ingram-Miller is following the path of her mother and The group’s founder Maggie Ingram.
The Cultural Roots Homeschool Cooperative’s “Moving On” ceremony opened with an African drum procession Wednesday, May 29, at Pine Camp Cultural Arts and Com munity Center on Old Brook Road. The Cultural Roots Homeschool Cooperative, founded by Alycia Wright, has about 125 students that participate in the education al classes and experiences that the families work together to select and fund each year.
