Devin Rispress helped Florida A&M’s football team win a national championship. Now he hopes to do the same for the University of Colorado.
The former director of recruiting for A&M has joined Coach Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes staff in a similar capacity. Officially his title is assistant director of player personnel and high school relations.
Florida is generally considered the nation’s hottest state for prep talent and Coach Sanders, a Florida State alumnus, wants to develop a “Florida pipeline.”
Coach Rispress, a Tallahassee native, was a successful high school coach until 2022 when he joined Willie Simmons’ staff at A&M. Simmons has since resigned to become the running backs coach at Duke.
With Coach Rispress recruits all over the field, A&M won the SWAC and Black National Championship Celebration Bowl this season. A&M was 12-1 this season and 21-3 over two campaigns.
A&M had 13 All-SWAC players this season, five on offense, seven on defense and one specialist.
Quarterback Jeremy Moussa was lured by Coach Rispress from Vanderbilt. He recently declared for the NFL draft.
