Location: Seminary and Claremont avenues in North Side. Richmond area damage estimates ranged from $2 million to $5 million, including $770,000 in damage to 10 Richmond school buildings. Officials said all but $100,000 of the schools damage would be covered by insurance. Dominion brought in hundreds of workers, who helped restore power by late Monday. Fifty crews from the City of Richmond, meanwhile, cleared fallen trees blocking 156 streets and removed 700 tons of tree debris through Tuesday. As of Tuesday night, Byrd Park, Battery Park Pool and Bryan Park had yet to reopen. The city and Henrico County are offering to haul away tree limbs from residents’ property. In the city, residents can place limbs and brush near the curb or alley for pickup. County residents must register for service at (804) 501-4275 or online at www.henrico.us/services/storm-debris-pickup. The county’s deadline to sign up is Friday, June 24.

A variety of colorful hats highlighted “Hattitude 2016: Hats Off to Women,” an annual awards program hosted by the Cavalier Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association. Café and bakery debuts at theater // Customers browse at the new 1927 Café and Bakery inside the Altria Theater at Main and Laurel streets across from Monroe Park. The shop opened last week and offers breakfast, lunch and evening bistro fare, along with teas and coffee. The café is open seven days a week to the public and provides additional food and beverage options for show attendees. The name pays tribute to the year when a Masonic group opened the building as The Mosque.

Judge Jamison retiring // Family and friends join in unveiling the portrait of outgoing Judge Birdie Hairston Jamison, right, that will hang in the Richmond General District Court. Judge Jamison, 57, is the dean of the state’s traffic court judges. She began hearing cases in Richmond in 1991. Her tenure on the court officially ends Tuesday, Nov. 30. Million Man March 20 years later - Throngs of people from across the nation flooded the National Mall in Washington for the Justice Or Else rally marking the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March. People of all ages, ethnicities, faiths and backgrounds were drawn to the capital for the event initiated by Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan. But now the retired 68-year- old state employee is being told she must either purchase the two-bedroom home from her landlord, the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, or face moving. “It’s a terrible situation,” she said. “RRHA has told me I have to put up $500 to begin the process and to get a mortgage by December.
