Officials from the wireless communication company and its foundation gave students the free equipment and wireless service at the Oct. 19 event. Through the next four years, a total of 5,250 city students who lack computers and internet service at home will receive electronic tablets to help them do their homework. The distribution is part of the company’s 1Million Project that seeks to close the digital divide that makes it difficult for students to achieve academic success.

Million Man March 20 years later - Throngs of people from across the nation flooded the National Mall in Washington for the Justice Or Else rally marking the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March. People of all ages, ethnicities, faiths and backgrounds were drawn to the capital for the event initiated by Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan.
